Traineeships

A Traineeship is a Government funded training programme to support young people moving from education onto an Apprenticeship or employment. Traineeships are aimed at 16-19 year olds (or 24 if holding an Educational Health & Care Plan (EHCP)) who are not employed and have little work experience, but are focused on gaining employment.

Traineeships programmes are developed with employers, so are specific to a place of work. Traineeships can last between 6-weeks and 6-months, with the learner learning important skills in preparation for the work environment and well as gaining real-life work experience.

Whilst on a Traineeship you do not receive a wage; you will be interviewed at the end of the programme and may be offered employment with the organisation. All the training received during the Traineeship is fully funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

Organisations looking to provide Traineeships should contact us to discuss how a Traineeship programme could help you recruit.
