T-Levels

T Levels are a 2-year qualification that you can complete after GCSEs as an alternative to A levels, other post-16 courses or an Apprenticeships. They are broadly equivalent in size to 3 A Levels. Launched in September 2020, these courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and education providers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for entry into skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or related technical study through further or higher education.

T Levels offer students practical and knowledge-based learning at a training provider and on-the-job experience through an industry placement, they spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer to give the skills and knowledge companies look for.

The industry placement gives students the chance to learn what a real career is like while continuing their studies. When and how these are completed depends on the T Level, training provider, and employer. T- Levels are available at selected colleges, schools and training providers across England and like A levels, there are no tuition fees to study a T Level if you start before you are 19.

When you pass your T Level, you will get a nationally recognised certificate showing the overall grade you achieved - pass, merit, distinction or distinction*.
