Successful Charity Golf Day!

Poultec Training hosted its first Charity Golf Day in aid of the Little Lifts charity, a charity supported by Poultec who provide the most thoughtfully handpicked and packed gifts to support people undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Poultec Training; a private training provider delivering Apprenticeships, Study Programmes and Short Courses across the country welcomed locals and staff members to this fundraising event. Nine teams entered the Charity Golf Day on Friday 26th May enjoying a fun filled day of golf, eating homemade food and winning fabulous raffle and auction prizes. We are proud to confirm that we raised a total of £2650 which will be donated to the fantastic cause Little Lifts.

Poultec Training staff members were all keen to make this fundraiser successful in honour of anyone who is currently going through breast cancer treatment. Breast cancer can strike anyone at any time, every year approximately 55,000 women and 350 men are diagnosed with breast cancer and 36,000 women living with secondary (incurable) every year, making it the most common cancer. Little Lifts aim is to reach them all providing them with free, thoughtfully curated Little Lifts gift boxes when receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment.

The Charity Golf Day was hosted at our sister company Mattishall Golf Club. Entry also included a homemade chicken, beef, lamb or falafel burger served with chips all made by Café Verde’s talented chefs. The golf day was run in Texas scramble format and additional competitions where nearest to the pin and longest drive. Raffle ticket where being sold left, right and centre prior to and on the day, which raised a total of £575. The silent auction bidding took place before the meal commenced and the winners where approached after the meal. The raffle was drawn after the food and many players took home some fabulous prizes.

The atmosphere throughout the day was great and all the teams enjoyed their round of golf in the beautiful sunshine. Two teams outperformed the rest, coming in with a score of 56, but it was Team Watt & Will that were announced as overall winners after a countback review of the scores, taking home a bottle of wine and a new Puma jumper each. Also, prizes were awarded for Closest the Pin, won by Colin Lang and for Longest Drive, that was won by Chris Stearman.

We are proud to be a Platinum sponsors to Little Lifts and it is our mission to raise as much money as possible for them! Therefore, on behalf of all the staff here at Poultec, we were greatly appreciative of all the support and donations we received. We are proud of how much money we made in one day and very pleased with how well it went. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our future fundraising events.
