Sophie Barnett’s Apprenticeship Journey: From Business Administrator to Office Team Leader

Sophie is one for dedication, growth, and grabbing opportunities. Having enrolled on her first Apprenticeship at the age of 16, Sophie has now completed two business-related Apprenticeships within five years while working with the same company, Scoots Hire Ltd.

In August 2019, Sophie started with Scoots Hire Ltd and Yaxham Waters Holiday Park as a business administration Apprentice. However, when the challenges of COVID-19 arose, she transitioned to solely work with Scoots Hire Ltd. Sophie is a strong believer that Apprenticeships allow you to grow as an individual whilst learning and developing on the job skills, interpersonal skills and knowledge. Sophie added ‘From a young age, I’ve been a keen learner and very business driven.’

As soon as Sophie completed her Business Administration Apprenticeship in 2020 she was eager to progress onto another, to develop her knowledge and skills further. In October 2022 Sophie began her team leader and supervisor Apprenticeship with Poultec Training. One of the most rewarding aspects of Sophies Apprenticeship journey has been the opportunity for progression. ‘Through dedication and hard work, I was promoted from a business administrator role to an Office Team Leader. This new role presents me with fresh challenges and projects each day, allowing me to continually grow and develop…and I have the privilege of working with an amazing team!!’ stated Sophie.

Sophie recently completed her team leader and supervisor Apprenticeship with a distinction. Sophie was so pleased to receive this result and looks forward to starting the next level of management. Sophie’s aspiration is to become director of a Scoots Hire and she feels that the skills and experiences gained through completing Apprenticeships will prepare me for this achievement.

Sophie speaks highly of her Poultec Apprenticeship experience. ‘Throughout my Apprenticeship journey, my tutor; Catherine helped me reach success. She demonstrated professionalism and confidence in her teaching, always being available to address any questions or concerns I had. Her guidance and support was great, particularly during the lead up to my end point assessment. She conducted revision sessions and held regular catch-ups to ensure I was fully prepared.’ said Sophie. She occasionally visited Poultec’s centre in Mattishall and said she felt incredibly welcomed with everyone being so friendly. Sophie added ‘I would definitely recommend Poultec Training Apprenticeship programmes to anyone looking to learn and earn at the same time.’

Tutor Catherine says ‘Sophie always give her best and all of her hard work, paid off in the form of Distinction in ILM level 3 Management Qualification. Well done.’
