New Fitness Study Programme

 September saw the launch of our new Fitness study programme, a course aimed at 16-18-year olds to provide a foundation for a career in Sport & Fitness instruction. This course is the ideal foundation for youngsters looking to become a personal trainer or deliver fitness training sessions. The training programme is a blend of theory and hands-on training, delivered at our dedicated fitness training facilities at South Green Park, Mattishall.

As part of the Fitness study programme, students will complete a YMCA Awards Level 2 Certificate in Instructing Fitness, which covers topics such as anatomy and physiology for exercise, principles of exercise fitness and health, know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity and planning gym-based exercise.

Ben, 17 years old is one of our first fitness study programme students. Ben decided to start 

his career in fitness after losing 4 stone over the past 5 months through boxing, he soon realised this was something he wanted to learn more about. ‘I started off absolutely hating doing fitness and now I love it. I feel everyone should give fitness a try because it really helps your mental wellbeing as well as keeping you active.’

Tiago his tutor added ‘This course is a great opportunity for youngsters looking to start their career in fitness. The facilities here at Poultec are fantastic making practical sessions very hands on.’

Poultec has been successfully delivering a range of different study programmes for a number of years. Learners on this particular study programme will be gaining work experience, shadowing and completing taught sessions by our experienced team who have 7 years’ experience within the fitness industry.

 On successful completion of a fitness study programme, learners are given the opportunity to progress onto an Apprenticeship.
