New Course Launch– Employability Skills

Poultec Training are delighted to announce the launch of an Employability Skills Course, this is aimed at 16-19 year olds who are looking to start or advance their career path. This course is two days per week for a period of two to six months where you are taught a number of skills helping you with your search for employment or further study by our experienced tutors at mentoring sessions.

The different employability skills taught on these sessions will include effective communication, introduction to ICT, applying for a job, interview skills, searching for a job and much more. As well as optional specialism units such as Hospitality & Catering, Customer Service, Business Administration, Retail, IT Skills, Hairdressing & Barbering, Fitness & Sport and Warehousing, subject to demand. Choosing a specialism when completing this course will allow you to have an insight into your chosen industry. Our programme manager Spencer, highlighted the importance of providing different options for young people seeking employment as ‘a generic ‘one size fits all approach’ will make the student feel like a number.’

On successful completion, you will gain a City & Guilds Level 1 Extended Certificate in Employability Skills certificate and an opportunity to progress onto a job or into further training i.e. an Apprenticeship.

This course is delivered in a variety of locations throughout Norfolk; the specific locations will depend on the level of response. However, during these difficult times, we are providing online sessions to keep all students and staff safe.

Individuals wanting to enrol on this course must be aged 16 to 19 years old and must not already be in any education, training or employment. 16-19 year olds should consider applying for this course as it will give them essential information on finding a job and gaining employment. Alongside this they will also gain life skills and motivation.
