We deliver Poultry Apprenticeships throughout England on either poultry farms or hatcheries. You will work for an employer gaining on-the-job training. Our experienced poultry tutors visit monthly to accompany the study side of the Apprenticeship teaching and developing new skills and knowledge. Our tutors will also set tasks via an online portfolio for the you to complete in-between visits.
Additionally, you will be invited to attend short courses away from the work place or over Zoom, these will provide you with extra knowledge and broaden your understanding of the poultry industry.
The Apprenticeship will be tailored specifically to the type of farm or hatchery you are working on. For example, egg production farm, rearing farm, breeding farm or growing farm and they may be chicken, turkey or duck sites. You will be completing tasks such as monitoring and maintaining biosecurity, establishing and maintaining egg production, brood and grow young birds hatch and dispatch poultry plus preparing birds for transportation.
