Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are a great way of learning whilst working. They are for anyone over the age of 16, who is not already in full time education.
You can achieve a nationally recognised qualification while being employed with the opportunity to further develop your Maths and English (if required), all while earning a wage.
Qualification
Our apprenticeships range from Level 2 to Level 5 qualifications.
Length of course
Our Apprenticeships usually take between 12 and 24 months to complete, depending on the level and sector.
Location of study
Where apprentices study will depend on their course but most involve a combination of online and in-person learning in the workplace.
Funding
Apprenticeships are fully funded for the learner.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do Apprenticeships work?
An Apprenticeship is a real job, with hands-on experience, a salary and the chance to train while you work. Apprentices are treated just like all the other employees, with a contract of employment and holiday leave.
Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16.
Apprentices get paid and train at the same time, with at least 20% of your time spent in off the job training. During the Apprenticeship you will receive training and be competent in your chosen occupation – this is the first step onto the career path.
Apprenticeships can take between one and two years to complete, depending on which apprenticeship you choose, what level it’s at, and your previous experience.
Am I eligible for an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are available for anyone over the age of 16 who is not already in education.
Apprenticeships are available to new entrants into an organisation as well as existing staff who are new to a role or require upskilling.
How do I find the right Apprenticeship for me?
Poultec Training works with organisations who are looking for Apprentices to join their team – vacancies for Apprentices are published on our Apprenticeship finder.
Alternatively, you may have spoken to a potential employer about becoming an Apprentice with them – we can help that employer recruit you as an Apprentice and guide them through the process.
Still unsure? Why not send us a message or call us to discuss your aspirations and we can help you find the ideal Apprenticeship for you.
Will I need to attend College?
Whilst Apprenticeships are delivered in the work-place, some Apprenticeships require you to attend work-shops or taught sessions away from your normal work place.
If this is required, we would liaise with you and your employer ensuring that you are able to attend these sessions.
What do the different levels of Apprenticeship mean?
At Poultec, we deliver four levels of Apprenticeship:
– Intermediate (level 2) equivalent to GCSE
– Advanced (level 3) equivalent to A Level
– Higher (levels 4 and 5) equivalent to Foundation Degree
