Study Programmes
Sports & Golf Coaching
We offer two types of Coaching Study Programmes; Sports Coaching and Golf Coaching. Both providing you with transferable skills needed to make you ’employable’ within the sport coaching industry.
These programmes are delivered in our onsite modern gym and on our sports field at our Mattishall site. For the Golf Coaching programme we have partnered up with Mattishall Golf Club and we deliver sessions using their top spec golfing facilities.

Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Sports Coaching
Description
The Sports Coaching Study Programme is put together to provide physical work preparing you for a career in sports coaching. This programme involves planning and coaching multisport activity session, principles of fundamental movement and sports skills. The programme includes planning/coaching multisport activity session, working with children and young people in a coaching environment and principles of anatomy, physiology and fitness.
You will be working with other students using our sporting facilities which includes a modern fully-equipped gym and outdoor sports field at our Mattishall site. Your knowledgeable tutor will also carry out theory-based teaching session as well as setting you written work via an online portfolio.
The course will also offer:
- Level 2 Functional Skills English (if required)
- Level 2 Functional Skills Maths (if required)
Entry Requirements
You must be between the ages of 16-18. Math’s and English GCSE 3 and above (or equivalent)
Progression Opportunities
There are opportunities to continue your studies with an Apprenticeship or it could lead to employment.
Costs
If you are 16-18 there are no course fees payable, however you may have some costs associated with uniform, equipment etc.
Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Sports Coaching – Golf
Description
The Golf Coaching Study Programme is delivered by professional top-class golfers helping you build up the capability to coach golf yourself. This programme includes learning the principles of anatomy, physiology and fitness, planning multisport activity session and working with children and young people in a coaching environment. This programme consists of principles of fundamental movement and golf skill, planning and coaching golfing activity sessions, working with children and young people in a golf coaching environment.
You will work alongside other students on a 9-hole course, 6-bay driving range and indoor Trackman golf simulators at Mattishall Golf Club led by the clubs PGA Golf Professionals. Your skilful tutor will also carry out theoretical session as well as setting you written work via an online portfolio.
The course will also offer:
- Level 2 Functional Skills English (if required)
