Traditionally, on leaving full time education you had two options – continue with education, or enter employment to begin earning. Becoming an Apprentice, you can do both!

apprenticeships-blackApprentices are paid employees of a business, who gain experience and knowledge from working alongside skilled teammembers whilst also completing a qualification. The qualification is normally completed in the work-place; however apprentices may also need to attend workshops from time-to-time away from their normal place of work. The qualifications that an apprentice gains are nationally recognised qualifications, specific to their place of work.

Apprenticeships are a partnership between the leaner, employer and training provider. Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16, who is not already in full time education. An apprenticeship can take between 12 to 18 months to complete, depending on the level and sector.

Apprenticeships have been developed specifically with  industry representatives and therefore the training received is specific to the needs of the industry. Apprenticeships come in two levels: Intermediate and Advanced.  Intermediate includes a level 2 qualification, suited to opertatives, whereas advanced includes a level 3 qualification, suited to team leaders and managers.
