Courses > Manufacturing

Description – This Apprenticeship is suitable for those working in a manufacturing industry – from printing and photographic processing, chemicals, metals, rubber and plastics, to food, drink and tobacco. You might be a new recruit, employed in the industry or a trainee on a government-funded training programme.

Content – The qualification includes the following framework:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations
  • Level 1 Functional Skills Maths and English
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
  • Employee Rights & Responsibilities

Benefits – The successful Apprentice will have an increased knowledge or understanding of:

  • Producing formed products
  • Making products using computer controlled equipment
  • Controlling manufacturing operations
  • Analysing the results of inspection confirming quality of production

Duration – 12-18 months

Progression – There is plenty of opportunity to progress following your Apprenticeship, whether you would like to take a more senior role or move into a more technical role e.g. Quality Assurance

Description – This NVQ is designed for those working in a manufacturing industry – from printing and photographic processing, chemicals, metals, rubber and plastics, to food, drink and tobacco.

Content – The qualification includes the following mandatory units:

  • Promoting effective working relationships
  • Contributing to effective team working

Optional units include:

  • Preparing for manufacturing operations
  • Controlling manufacturing operations
  • Analysing the results of inspection and confirming quality of production
  • Receiving and checking incoming materials
  • Making products using computer controlled equipment
