Butchery

Poultec Training Limited has its own state-of-art butchery suite at its training centre at South Green Park.  These facilities are used by Poultec’s Master butcher to host workshops to teach small groups of learner’s butchery skills. These workshops are available for new entrants, as well as existing butchers wanting to expand their knowledge and skills. Recent workshops include those aimed specifically at the Farm Retail sector, for business wanting to create or expand their facilities within a farm shop.

In addition to the suite of butchery workshops, Poultec delivers the Improve  Proficiency Apprenticeship programme in Meat & Poultry, which is delivered in the butchers own premises, complimented by workshops at South Green Park. The Improve Proficiency Apprenticeship consists of the Improve Proficiency Qualification (IPQ) and Keys Skills (Application of Number and Communication). Units of the IPQ are selected with the learner/employer to ensure that the qualification is relevant to the learner and their place of work. Apprenticeships are available in both Level 2 and Level 3.
