The 16 - 18 year old Apprenticeship scheme is proving a big success with employers and the Apprentices themselves. Many business are finding the scheme an excellent way of bringing new blood into their companies and giving an apprentice the opportunity to learn valuable work skills. The wage for an apprentice starts from £95 a week, allowing the apprentice to earn while they learn. Poultec Training are working closely with many businesses to get apprentices trained to the national standard within the chosen industry. Business"Having never recruited a school-leaver before, we were a little apprehensive at taking on a young apprentice with little experience of life in general. These fears were rapidly dispelled. Claire has integrated well into our team. With the help and guidance of Poultec, she has a training plan which is beneficial to her, and fits well with her day-to-day duties. Looking forward, the business administration and customer service modules she has the opportunity of completing, appear to cover everything we would wish for." Richard Hall The Apprentice"Hi my name is Adam and I am 17 years old. I currently work for South Green Park. I am on a Business Admin apprenticeship with Poultec Training and I am making excellent progress. I saw the opportunity advertised in connexions. I liked the idea of completing a qualification while earning money in a full time job. When I first started my apprenticeship I was worried that it would all be done in my spare time however most of the work and all of the meetings are done within my work hours. I think whilst I have been on my apprenticeship I have become more confident out of work as well as in work. Since I have been on my course I am now able to look after the reception desk, meet and greet visitors and make sure conference rooms are set up for our customers. I have now got a moped through the ‘kick start programme’ which is great for getting me to and from work. Its good to be earning money while gaining experience . I'm learning loads from the course and really feel I'm part of the team. " Adam Faherty |
