About The National Skills Academy

Poultec were awarded the accolade of National Skills Academy Champion following a selection process which looked at reputation, industry links, employer engagement, performance , quality of staff and delivery materials. The company has a long and successful track record of delivering training programmes in the industry and during this time has built up strong working relationships with some of the UK's biggest manufacturers. Poultec have developed effective delivery methods for their work-based courses such as NVQ's and Apprenticeships which ensure they fit around the work systems of each employer and give the learners maximum impact and training that is relevant to their work role.

One of Poultec's main strengths was recognised as the quality of training materials that have been developed for use in both work-based learning and classroom based short courses. A lot of these materials have been developed in conjunction with the employers and bespoke courses have been created and developed where a need has been recognised.

As part of our National Skills Academy Programme, Poultec have further developed the on-site butchery and production development kitchen. A full range of butchery courses are on offer as well as product development and cookery courses. The butchery area gives learners the opportunity to be trained using the latest equipment and to produce products which can be packaged and labelled. Many food products can also be developed in the product development area, allowing companies to experiment and bring a product to market, maximising its potential prior to launch.

The National Skills Academy Status is the natural successor to Poultec's successful Centre of Vocational Excellence project which saw the development of the Norfolk Food Centre of Excellence.
