With two dedicated computer suites at Poultec's South Green Park Training Centre and with on-hand tutors, you are guaranteed an excellent learning experience.

OCR CLAiT & CLAiT PLUS

ocrCLAiT 2006 is a nationally recognised qualification from OCR (Oxford, Cambridge & RSA). Over 2 million people in the UK now hold CLAiT certificates, making CLAiT the benchmark qualification in IT.

 

 

CLAiT 2006 offers:
Simplified unit structure
Clear progression at all levels
Single Unit / Certificate / Diploma options for candidates

New CLAiT (Level 1) - for the beginner - boosts confidence
CLAiT Plus  (Level2) - for those with some experience - increases IT productivity

Aimed at two levels, CLAiT 2006 is a package of computer qualifications for learners of all abilities looking to develop or progress their skills.

Learners can progress through the levels within CLAiT 2006, developing and enhancing their IT skills as they go. CLAiT 2006 can lead to exciting things such as website design and electronic media.

CLAiT 2006 also provides a basis for progression to the NVQs which form part of the iTQ suite (NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 for IT Users).

Each unit is individually assessed. To achieve the Certificate a candidate is required to achieve Unit 1 (File Management and e-Document Production) plus 2 optional units. To achieve a Diploma a candidate is required to achieve Unit 1 plus 4 optional units.

Some previous experience of using a computer would prove beneficial.

European Computer Driving Licence

ecdlIT skills have become a requirement for many employers when employing new staff. ECDL is a qualification recognised by most companies both in the UK and Europe. It is specifically designed for those who wish to gain a basic qualification in computing.

 

 

BCS Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL Part 1)

Is designed to give an initial overview of computer use for candidates wishing to gain a
qualification. The qualification is made up of the following modules which have direct mapping to the European Computer Driving Licence for the following modules:

Concepts of Information Technology (ECDL module 1)
Using the computer and managing files (ECDL module 2)
Information and communications (ECDL module 7)
Progressing to:

BCS Level 2 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL Part 2)

If you have completed your ECDL and want to progress your skills, or if you are already a 'power user' - ECDL Advanced is the qualification for you. ECDL Advanced will allow you to demonstrate your higher level computer skills and that you are confident.

ECDL Advanced is available for the following applications:

You can take any of the modules individually to receive an ECDL Advanced certificate in that application or, if you complete all of the modules, you will receive an additional ECDL Expert certificate showing that you are truly expert in computer use! ITQ NVQ

This is a new computer-based NVQ, designed to suit the needs of your employee in your business and give individuals and businesses the IT skills to succeed. 

Training can take up to 12 months and will be delivered at your workplace with monthly visits from one of our IT assessors.  

ITQ can be tailored to meet your needs and your abilities by allowing you to choose a combination of units at different levels to prove your competence in the IT world.

Microsoft Word Processing

Beginners - A course to introduce skills with Microsoft Word.

About the Course
This tutor-led course uses demonstration and practical exercises to learn the basic skills of word processing software. Ideal for business and personal use, candidates will learn how set-up a document page with margins, headers and footers and to correctly enter, format and manipulate text. Inserting graphics and text to produce professional and attractive display documents will be demonstrated.

Comprehensive reference notes are also supplied to supplement the practical work. A Poultec Certificate of Achievement is given upon successful completion of the course.

Requirements
No prior knowledge of IT is required, however the use of a mouse and knowledge of Windows would be an advantage.

Intermediate - A course to develop skills with Microsoft Word.
