Projects

Poultec Training works closely with a number of partners, many of which can provide funding to assist with the cost of training.

In addition to our funding partners, we are also accredited by awarding bodies and accreditation schemes to deliver training.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience.  As an employee you can earn as you learn and you gain practical skills from the workplace.  As an employer you can obtain a new member of your team, who together we have trained in the skills required for employment in your company.

Apprenticeships are available from 16 years until retirement!

Funding for training apprentices is available through the Skills Funding Agency, for more details see our apprenticeship pages.

National Skills Acadamy (NSA)

Poultec Training were awarded the accolade of National Skills Academy Champion following a selection process which looked at reputation, industry links, employer engagement, performance , quality of staff and delivery materials. The company has a long and successful track record of delivering training programmes in the industry and during this time has built up strong working relationships with some of the UK’s biggest manufacturers. Poultec have sucessfully developed effective delivery methods for their work-based courses such as NVQ’s and Apprenticeships which ensure they fit around the work systems of each employer and give the learners maximum benefit from training that is relevant to their work role.

One of Poultec’s main strengths was recognised as the quality of training materials that have been developed for use in both work-based learning and classroom based short courses. A lot of these materials have been developed in conjunction with the employers and bespoke courses have been created and developed where a need has been recognised.

As part of our National Skills Academy Programme, Poultec have further developed the on-site butchery and product development kitchen. A full range of butchery courses are on offer as well as product development and cookery courses. The butchery area gives learners the opportunity to be trained using the latest equipment and to produce products which can be packaged and labelled. Many food products can also be developed in the product development area, allowing companies to experiment and bring a product to market, maximising its potential prior to launch.

The National Skills Academy Status is the natural successor to Poultec’s successful Centre of Vocational Excellence project which saw the development of the Norfolk Food Centre of Excellence.

LandSkills

RDPE (Rural Development Programme for England) has provided funds to assist with the payment of training of those within the agricultural sector.  These funds have been split geographically and have been markets under the name of LandSkills.  Poultec has provided training, which has been successfully funded by LandSkills in: East Anglia, West Midlands, South West and South East.

LandSkills has specific training objectives, which allows for part funding of short courses relevant to agriculture.
