Date posted: September 12, 2011
The Bangladeshi Support Centre in Ipswich hosted an event in Alexandra Park, on Sunday 4th September in partnership with public sector bodies, educational institutions and the local media. As well as live music and entertainment from around the globe, there was a ‘feast of world foods’, a children’s zone, a culture and heritage zone – including a 5-a-side football tournament. Different cultural groups/organisations from the region participated and represented their communities (African/Caribbean, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Indian, Kurdish, Polish, Turkish and many more). The event hosted a range of information stalls, and the Skills for Life team from Poultec Training were there to promote their ESOL for Citizenship course starting shortly in Ipswich, as well as offering advice and guidance on a range of courses available through Poultec. A fantastic day was had by all , and it was great for Poultec to be able to support the local communities all working together for a common aim.
